I don't know about the effect on the economy, I don't think there's a huge effect at all as a matter of fact. But here in Florida where the oranges are being picked by Mexican workers I see that they get a job done that wouldn't be done by the locals without being paid a lot more for doing less. The Mexicans make good money, and go home with what is a huge amount of money there and the grove owners are happy to be getting the job done. So in my experience here I see no effect on the economy (sure, they spend their money too, but there's just not enough to cause an effect) but the relationship is mutually beneficial.

And no, they are not in any way underpaid. It's piece work and they make more than most American workers do but they really work hard at it and this is a rare and welcome opportunity for them.

Yes

1. Population crisis. The largest generation has moved through the economy and are retiring. These generations created a socialist economy . Meanwhile, "Birth Control" was created, produced, and mass distributed during the late 1960's onward. The childreen and grandchildreen soon will be outnumbered by the old people with a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio while providing for social services. Seriously, we can't pay for all this with so few workers!!!

2. Union Killers . Yes, the Baby Boomers and Hippies have worked and worked with the goal for retirement. Sadly, when companies promised them pensions, these companies spend the pension money, and now have to add the cost of paying back the pension to their product. The only way to compete globally is to get cheep labor in .

3. Cheep labor outsourced Globally. Companies in the USA are shutting down to outsouce to India and China. It's no longer manufacturing but customer service and manufaturing. Again, our only hope is to get our own cheep labor to assist us. Sadly, the Baby Boomers and Hippies, have selected who can and cannot be born based on their own life style. If America had kept reproducing then we would have given birth to our own to handle basic work. With the "Birth Control", many of the following generations think they are Royalty, and above working in the fields, or handling grunt work. This new generation is largly college educated, and unskilled in grunt work .

If the people who hire them are honest, otherwise no. I do know the most important thing regarding mexican workers in the fields and orchards is that they have kept the rest of us from starving to death.

They are great for the economy, because they send 20 billion dollars per year from the United States. That is 20% of the GDP, and they don't consume resources.

i don't think that it is about mexican workers, i think its about the economy you asked? in my opinion, anyone who does their job efficiently and effectively is good for our economy. you could hire a white person, (like myself) who is the worst worker ever, (personally i work hard) and a mexican worker who does a great job. now, tell me, do most americans work harder than mexican americans, im my persoanl opinion, no. i live in a more white upclass community than most and manage a restaurant and "white people" nowadays aren't trying, "other"(no offense to who you might be) are. don't worry i will mention my "mexican employees", who i call friends, they work definitively harder than there white friends

illegal imigrants hell no it is because they can get cheap labor and get big profits cause they get paid off the books no taxes dont have to pay for health care means more profit and they try to say americans dont want to do these jobs maybe some want to continue to live on wellfare but for most thats bull most people without job or place to live or trying to get work to better ther situation in general would love to have a job but now with these jobs being low wage to begin with and imigrants coming in and doing the job for less living 10-20 per apart. or house its easier for them to get by on these wages versus single family trying to do this and provide food roof and other essentials bills medical transportation and so forth then they pump out all these kids who are now american citezens and mothers get to stay to care for them now their americans now they get free health care. i worked with a guy who once told me he comes here works for awhile lives with other family members in house and then goes back home to mexico because one of our dollars is like ten of their dollars so evenif i were only to get 5 dollars an hour which this guy was making 10 thats like making 50 to 100 dollars an hour now who wouldnt work for that but if it is you or me and we pay the high cost of living here that 5-10 dollars doesnt get you a whole lot so it most people dont do these jobs because you get paid more to sit at home and make babies and try to collecct wellfare or dissabilaty can you reall blame some people increase the pay for americans in these jobs so they can make a living and i bet you would see more people applying for job cut off immigration all together i say and stop outsourcing our jobs to other countriries so you can make big profits you are just fueling the idea that we will no longer be the super power or leader in global economy and in the tech sector in short you are ensuring our demise THANKSwe appreciate it
